The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team is coming off a heartbreaking season that saw them finish as national runner-up after losing to the Texas Longhorns in the championship match. Despite the loss, the Huskers have high expectations for the upcoming season.

Looking towards 2024:

Return of Experience – The Huskers will benefit from the return of a team with significant experience for the 2024 season. Since no seniors are graduating, the core group will have another year to build on their success.

New Face – Nebraska volleyball has added some talented freshmen to the mix, including outside hitter Skylar Pierce, a highly-rated recruit, and defensive specialist Olivia Mauch, the reigning Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year.

Coaching Staff – Head coach John Cook, who was named the 2023 AVCA National Coach of the Year, remains at the helm, bringing his expertise and leadership to the team.
Offseason News:

Schedule released – Big Ten announces 2024 volleyball matchups in February. The Huskers face a challenging conference schedule, including rematches against rivals such as Penn State and Wisconsin.

Transfer Portal Activity – While a few players moved through the transfer portal, Nebraska also received a key addition with the transfer of middle blocker Leyla Blackwell from San Diego.
